The annual Interfaith Thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday, November 23rd.
Please join Asbury and other Prairie Village churches at Cherokee Christian Church (75th and Belinder), beginning at 7:00 p.m. The offering received, as well as your donations of
non-perishable food items, will be donated to the Village Church Community Pantry. Invite your neighbor!

“Hanging of the Greens”
Worship services: November 29 & 30

Come to any of the three weekend worship services on November 29-30th and take part in decorating the tree for Advent 2008. There will be Holiday carol singing, and a section of the worship service will be spent decorating the Sanctuary! What a great opportunity to invite a friend to worship! All the Holiday ornaments will be provided. Just bring a spirit of enthusiasm to celebrate the beginning of our Advent Season at Asbury.
During the Sunday School hour (10:00 a.m.), children will make ornaments for the tree.

Spiritual Discernment: A Guide for Genetic and Reproductive Technologies
Discussion series, Thursday evenings

Have you ever wondered what genetics is all about?
Come to an 8 week series of discussion on making decisions related to genetics,
reproductive technology, and in-vitro fertilization beginning on Thursday evenings, excluding Thanksgiving.
Dr. Barbara Lukert and Pastor Cheryl will lead an eight-week series
entitled “Spiritual Discernment: A Guide for Genetic and Reproductive Technologies.” The group will meet in
the parlor on Thursday evenings, through December 11, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m.
During these discussions, the science of genetics and options for treating infertility will be explained in an understandable
manner, ethical issues emerging from these decisions, and how our faith speaks to us in the decision making
process will be explored.

Local Christmas Stores in Need
Collection during November

The opportunity is here to give a Christmas gift to someone in our community who is in need.
The Johnson County Christmas Store and Cross-Lines Christmas Store will be opening soon, and your
contributions to these stores will be collected during November. A "Giving Tree" and donation box will
be in the Narthex (greeting area) for new mittens, gloves, hats, underwear and socks, as well as gently used coats.
Children, teens, and adult items are all wanted and appreciated. Thank you!
