YOUTH CORNER NEWS!

Bishop's Roundup Lock-in & Activity: Friday, November 14
We will meet at Asbury at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, November 14, and return at approximately 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15. Travel will be by van to Lawrence First United Methodist Church for the Lock-in. On Saturday, we will go to the Fairgrounds to help with the Bishop's Round-Up for Hunger. This is a Kansas East Conference activity, so there will be youth from all over Kansas East Conference at the lock-in and event. IMPORTANT NOTE: Each youth MUST have the 2008-09 Asbury permission slip on file (see below), and ALSO have the Conference form that is online at www.kansaseast.org. Click on "Health Waiver". If you attended Institute this past Summer, we have the form.
What to bring: pillow, sleeping bag, clothes, toiletries, money for lunch and crafts, Bible, snacks to share.

Heifer International Presentation: Sunday, Nov. 16 at 10:00 a.m. (Sunday School hour)
UMC laypersons, Terry and Judy Wollen, will share stories about empowering native people to work for justice, improve the environment, and receive training and education in nutrition and animal management through Heifer International. Meet in Hager Hall. NOTE: no Youth Group in the evening November 16th.

UMYF Snack & Meeting:
Sunday, Nov. 23 We will meet in Asbury's Hager Hall.
Sunday, Nov. 30 We will be back in the Youth Lounge.

Looking Ahead:
Sunday, December 7 — "Tentative" cookie exchange with UM Women at 5:00 and then
                                        meet with the congregation for dinner at 6:00 for Charge Conference.
Sunday, December 14 — Youth Group 5:00-7:00
Saturday, December 20 — Youth will serve at Lazarus Table in downtown Kansas City, Mo.
                                            This is blessedly after finals for the Shawnee Mission District youth this year!
Sunday, December 21 — Youth Group 5:00-7:00
