There are four styles of Worship at Asbury.
One Style is JUST FOR KIDS!
Saturday 5:00pm
Casual worship. We gather in the church parlor and start the service by singing favorite hymn requests. The Sermon is the same as Sunday Morning's message. There is often special music by different soloists with piano, and once a month presentation by a handbell trio and piano. At this time, the nursery is not available for this service. Sunday 8:50am
Classic worship. Nursery is provided for this service. The 8:50am service includes classic hymns primarily from the United Methodist Hymnal, responsorial prayers, spoken creeds and affirmations by the congregation. Special Music is from the chancel choir. Piano, organ and handbells accompany the choir and congregation on a regular basis. Communion is served once a month and is open to all who wish to invite Jesus into their lives! Sunday 11:00am
Experience Worship. Nursery is provided for this service. The 11:00am service features the same message as the 8:50 service, but is presented in a more relaxed, invitational style. The sermon is presented in parts, surrounded by songs led by our "Christ-in-Sight" praise group. The congregation sings a mix of classic hymns as well as music from secular pop/rock culture and CCM (Contemporary Christian Music). There is time for discussion of the sermon topic, extended prayer times, and communion is served once a month for all who wish to invite Jesus into their lives. Sunday 11:00am
KIDMO Children's Worship Service. This 11:00am service is designed for Children ages 5 through 5th grade! It features a great message taught by a combination of high energy volunteers and the KIDMO video curriculum. There's time for dancing, singing, memory games and fun group activities. All children are asked to go with their parents in the SANCTUARY for the 11:00 a.m. service, then group leaders will take the children downstairs to the music seminar room for the KIDMO worship program at the appropriate time. A pastor serves communion once a month as part of the program. Parents are asked to pick up their children from the music room (lower level, west wing) after the KIDMO service.
